FBM240 belongs to Foxboro Compact 200 Series digital I/O fieldbus module, unique hybrid 8DO+8DI readback design, specially developed for safety-critical interlock control loops of power, petrochemical and offshore platforms, solving the hidden danger of output relay contact adhesion or disconnection that ordinary discrete output modules cannot detect.
8 isolated digital output channels drive field relays, solenoid valves, trip coils and alarm lights; the matching 8 DI channels are dedicated to reading the voltage across relay contacts to feed back actual on/off state. The module internally compares the output command state with contact feedback state; once mismatch occurs, the channel is immediately marked BAD and uploaded to DCS HMI for fault alarm, realizing full closed-loop monitoring of switch output.
All channels adopt independent group isolation (1500VAC isolation strength), each output equipped with built-in fuse to prevent short-circuit burnout of the whole module caused by field wiring error. Input signal debounce time can be freely configured to filter mechanical contact bounce interference, improving signal stability in vibration-intensive factory environments.
